Obituary of Verna Marie Stemen (Powers)

Verna Marie Stemen, age 82, of Olivehurst, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2016. She was born on July 20, 1933, in Bisbee, Arizona to John Henry and Sarah Francis (Denny) Powers. Verna was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for over 30 years, retiring from Fremont Hospital in 1999. Mrs. Stemen is survived by her children: Keith (Sally) Stemen, Linda Haggard, and Mike (Janice) Stemen; grandchildren: Stacey Goetz, Candice Pratt, Seth Stemen, Ashley Inguanzo, and Courtney Stemen; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Gregory Stemen and her 4 siblings. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Sierra View Mortuary with committal to follow at Sierra View Memorial Park.
