Oak and I were best friends from first grade through high school. He lived next door for much of that time. Our house was his house. Sorry to say, we did not keep in touch after we were in the army. I have thought of him so many times down through the years. Such warm thoughts. My very best wishes to the family. Dean

My greatest memory of my grandpa is not any one time, but everytime grandpa, Garrett, and I went to his shop out back. We would spend hours out there, Garrett and I would build small things or cut wood and grandpa would watch us and help when we needed it. The whole time we would have the firplace going and after a while, we would put some eggs in a pot of water and boil them. These are the things I will miss the most. Grandpa, you are loved and will be greatly missed.

Tony, Tammy, Tabitha, Mackenzie and Toni Alexandra Manier (Nancy Jo's oldest daughter and family). We are so sorry about Uncle Oakley. We are taking good care of Grandpa "B", as the girls call him, in this hard time. You all are in our prayers and thoughts. We love you Aunt Clara.

I have so many great memories of dad I don't know where to begin. Something my brothers and I were talking about the other day was how dad would bring home candy in his lunch pail every night after work. We would anxiously wait to see him drive in the driveway and race to the door to greet him. Lots of laughter, hugs and kisses. Another fond memory was that he would pack three kids to bed all at one time-up the stairs. Dad would be my horse too. He would let me put my pony saddle on him and he would run around the living room on his hands and knees. I might have contributed to his knees going bad. We spent a lot of time on the houseboat on Lake Oroville. He taught us how to fish and he taught us how to water ski. He pulled us kids all over the lake. We also did a lot of swimming or at least floating.

I haven't seen him in years. He still looks the same. I know he's in a better place now. He can play cards with Joyce now. May he walk with God and the rest of his family that has passed. Love Sony and Gale Egolf Hicks
