My Uncle David was a very gentle soul and I loved him very much. He and I were only 7 years apart so I always felt that he was a big brother. When my siblings and I were young he always found time to ride bikes, build roads for us to play cars on, play 500 rummy and play the game of Life. H always shared his RC cola, potato chips and swiss cheese. While I was living in New York at 13 years old and he was in Vietnam we wrote letters back and forth. It really helped me cope while I was away from my family. He started me on my love of cars and I watched him for hours when he was building model cars. There are so many other things I remember about Uncle David but I know one day we will be able to talk and laugh again together so I will save those things for then. When I hear the song "In a gadda da vida" by Iron Butterfly (which he introduced me to) Iknow he is listening too!
