Betty is survived by her daughter Terri Thompson, son and daughter-in-law Alan and Makahn Shafer, and daughter and son-in-law Cheri and Mickey Melton as well as eight grandchildren; Jaime, Jill, Jesse, Lindsay, Cody, Perrin, Luana, Bramwell and Fifteen great-grandchildren. As a longtime resident Betty worked as a teacher, then as a secretary for both a local Dr’s office and at Beale Air Force Base. After retirement she continued to be active in her community working at voting polls and volunteering as a Pink Lady at Rideout Memorial Hospital. Betty loved to have company and made sure that any visitor left feeling full both physically and spiritually. Though she may now be gone from us here, she firmly believed that someday our Grand Maker would reunite us again and until that time her memory will continue to live inside each of us.
