Obituary of A. Dale Johnson

A. Dale Johnson, also known affectionately known by his family as “Doots” , Of Yuba City, California passed away on September 23, 2018 at Rideout Hospital. Dale was born on June 21,1942 to parents Clyde and Ollie Johnson in Olivehurst, California. He went to high school at Marysville, California, choosing to leave after his 10th grade year to pursue a career in the cannery business. He remained employed at Harter Packing Company for 40 years, eventually retiring as a shift supervisor. Dale is survived by his wife Darlene Johnson of Yuba City, and a daughter Lisa Jarnagin of Olivehurst and four grandsons. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, a son Barry Dale Johnson, his sister Patsy Reagan, and brothers James and Fred Johnson. Although a cannery supervisor by trade, Dale had a passion for buying, selling, and working on cars. It was once said that if you had not sold a car to him then most likely you bought one from him at some point. His knowledge of automobiles was vast and this knowledge and “shade tree” experience was sought for by many. Funeral services will be held crypt side at Sierra View Memorial Park on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 11 AM. Officiating the service will be Pastor Lee Roberts of The Gray Avenue Christian Church and Evangelist Ray Davis. A reception will be held immediately after in the Harvest Room at the corner of Butte House Road and Tharp Road in Yuba City
