Obituary of Marilyn L. Carpenter

Marilyn Louise Carpenter, 80, of Marysville and a life-long Yuba County resident passed away September 18, 2018. Marilyn was born in Oroville, California to Verla F. Osgood and Charles E. Ashburn on December 20, 1937. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1955. She began her 35 year career with Yuba County Probation Department juvenile services and worked for both Yuba and Sutter counties in mental health and rehabilitation programs. Her last position was as a counselor for Yuba-Sutter Mental Health. She found her career and its impact on her clients to be very fulfilling and rewarding. She is survived by her daughter, Sabrina "Sindy" Carpenter of Yuba City; son, Allen Carpenter of Washington; grandson, Corey Carpenter of Texas; brother, Gary (Meriam) Ashburn of Marysville; five nephews (their spouses and children). Marilyn is preceded in death by her children's father, Peter Carpenter; daughter, Tammy Carpenter; sister, Barbara Elsbree; and her parents Verla Morris and Charles Ashburn. Services will be held October 2, 2018 at 10:00am at Sierra View Memorial Park, 4900 Olive Avenue, Olivehurst. A graveside service to follow.
