Obituary of Kenneth Arlen Sweet

Kenneth "Ken" Arlen Sweet, of Marysville, California, born on March 6, 1960 in Kellogg, Idaho, to Gerrie Sweet and the late Arlen Sweet, passed away at age 58 on April 26, 2018. Kenneth graduated from Marysville High School in 1978. He was in the Security industry at Stanley Black & Decker/Honeywell as an Alarm Technician for over 35 years, until retiring in 2017. Kenneth is survived by his son, Jonathan Sweet (wife: Teri); grandchild, Abigail Sweet; daughter, Sarah Keller (husband: David); sisters, Debbie Noggle (husband: Les) and Tina Sweet-Williams; uncle Robert Cooke (wife: Nancy); and ex-wife, Kathy Obregon. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016 and survived well beyond his original diagnosis. In that time he touched many lives and made an impact even with his declining health. A special thanks to those who assisted with his care over the past year. Ken loved all of you and in his caring words "Have courage and be kind." Ken loved bowling, golfing, camping, and teaching the word of God. He was involved in many ministries at Word of Life Church; however, his main focuses were helping build homes in Mexico, and teaching the word of God to teenagers and at men's retreats. Friends and families can pay their respects at the memorial service, officiated by Pastor Stanley Reynolds, on Friday, May 4, 2018, 11:30 a.m. at Word of Life Church, 1229 Buchanan St., Marysville, California, 95901.
