Obituary of Perry Andrew Weatherson
Perry Andrew Weatherson, II, of Olivehurst, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife, Loretta, and loved ones on October 17, 2017. He was born to Perry Andrew and Juanita (King) Weatherson on October 26, 1927, in Glendale, California. Perry entered the Merchant Marines at 16 years of age, and then continued his service in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. During his term, he was awarded two Commendation Medals. Perry was a loving family man. He enjoyed taking his travel trailer out and going fishing. He was always tinkering around in his shop in his garage and even earned the nickname "MacGyver" from his grandchildren because of his ability to build or fix anything. Perry was also known for his ability to tell stories and for having all the answers. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his beloved wife, Loretta Weatherson, three sons: Perry (Diana), Victor (Sally), and Glenn (Vickey) Weatherson, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and his faithful companion, Poco. Perry and Loretta were married for 65 wonderful years! Perry is preceded in death by his father, Perry Weatherson Sr., mother, Juanita McComb, step mother, Dorothy Weatherson, brother, Ed McComb, and sister, MaryAnn Weatherson. Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, October 26, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Sierra View Mortuary. A chapel service will take place at 1:30 p.m. with committal to follow at Sierra View Memorial Park. Per Perry's request, no suits are allowed at his funeral service.
