Obituary of Ralph Rodney Mitchell

Ralph Rodney Mitchell Ralph was born October 15, 1939, in Bentonville, Arkansas to parents Phillip Mitchell and Naomi Benge. He entered eternal rest on August 10, 2017 in Sutter, CA. He died from Lung Cancer. Growing up in Sutter and West Linda, Ralph attended Tierra Buena, Alicia, and Marysville High Schools. He was an accomplished carpenter, coach and musician in life. Foremost, he was a devoted family man. Throughout the Yuba-Sutter community stands numerous homes, schools, medical facilities, businesses, and the late Marysville Drive-Inn movie screen that he built or helped build. He taught his boys and the neighborhood kids the love of baseball through discipline and skill while leading many championship teams and especially enjoyed entertaining folks on different occasions through his singing. He was a simple man. Ralph is survived by his wife, Hunky, of 62 years, sons, Roger & Richard, daughters, Denise, Dannette & Deann, 13 grandchildren, multiple great grandchildren, and his Olivehurst Moose Lodge friends. Preceding him in death are his parents, older brother, Dwight, oldest son, Ralph Jr., first grandchild, Dana, grandson, Richard Jr., and baby, Jessie. Our family has lost a loyal friend, a constant helper, and a proud Indian. Until we meet our chief again, rest in peace Dad. Happy singing in heaven! All our love forevermore. Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, August 17, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Sierra View Mortuary. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 18, at 11 a.m. at Sierra View Memorial Park.
