Obituary of William Lavern "Bill" Pickler
William Lavern (Bill) Pickler, 82, passed away February 10, 2017, in Live Oak, CA. Bill served in the U.S. Navy and was also in the National Guards. While in the Navy, he was an ambassador to Korea. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion for numerous years. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marybelle Pickler, second wife, Anna Pickler, and his third wife, Jo Pickler; his father Joseph; mother Bertha; brothers, Charles, Eugene, Patrick and Junior Riedel. Bill is survived by his son Olen Pickler of WA; daughters Jolene and Marlene of Oroville, Darlene Reagen (Jeff) of WA, Michelle Johnson (Shawn) of AR, Audra Nichols (Bo) of TX and stepdaughter Jeanette and Grady of Marysville and Gina of Connecticut. He is also survived by brothers Donald Pickler of Paradise, Ron Pickler (Maryann), David Pickler (Lorraine) both of Oroville, Jim Pickler of Olivehurst; sisters Leola McDonald of Oroville, Shirley Campbell (Bill) of Yuba City, Mary Terry (Carl) of Olivehurst, Jackie and Walther of Olivehurst, Beverly George (Jerry) of Hesperia and Pamela Jory (James) of Marysville. He has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a great man and will be missed by all that knew him. A memorial service will be held at the VFW Hall in Gridley from 11am-2pm, Saturday, February 18, 2017 with a potluck celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rideout Hospice.
