Obituary of Paul Ralph Vasquez

Paul Ralph Vasquez, age 85, of Olivehurst, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2017, in Live Oak, CA. He was born in Dunsmier, California on February 18, 1931, to Trinidad and Gusta (Olivas) Vasquez. Paul worked as a groundskeeper for the City of Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department for 40 years. He will be remembered as a wonderful father who always provided for his family. He was a great cook and loved to make homemade tortillas. Paul also had a green thumb and had beautiful gardens. He will be dearly missed. Paul is survived by his children: Michael Campos, Steven Campos, Christina (Anthony) Castro, Paul (Donna) Vasquez, Jr., Trinidad (Renee) Vasquez, Debra (Tommy) Martinez, Lucy (Serapio) Escalante, and Loretta (David) Medina; 18 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, his first wife, Trina, and his second wife, Lorna. A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 6100 Stockton Blvd. in Sacramento. Committal will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, 6509 Fruitridge Road, in Sacramento. Sierra View Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements.
