Obituary of LeeDell Younger
LeeDell was born November 19, 1938 in Clinton, Mississippi. He passed away on January 24, 2017, in Marysville, California. His mother is Lucille O'Neal Younger and his father is Sam Younger. Both parents predeceased him. In 1958, Leedell graduated from Sumner Hill High School in Clinton, Mississippi. LeeDell enlisted in the United States Army, and thereafter joined the regular Air Force. LeeDell served many tours overseas, one being Vietnam where he voluntarily served two tours. Among his many military achievements and awards, LeeDell received the Vietnam Service Medal with one silver service star and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm. Leedell married Ruby Cade in 1959 and had five children: Valeisa, Gregory, Jacqueline, Clifton and Anita. Throughout his life, LeeDell had a father's heart and strong moral character. After military retirement, LeeDell became a police officer, a manager at K-Mart, a restaurant owner, a radio show Disc Jockey, and worked at Beale Air Force Base Commissary. LeeDell was baptized in the faith while stationed in Valdosta, Georgia and joined Morningside Church where he was a committed and faithful member. Toward the end of his life, he grew closer to the Lord. LeeDell is survived by his wife of 57 years, his five children, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sons-in-law, and 9 siblings: Ruth Nixon, Jimmie Lee Williams, Mary Younger, Maria Younger, Tina Younger, Fannie Mae Younger, Minerva Aseberry, Sam Younger, and Eli Younger.
