Obituary of David L. Miller
Crossing the "finish line", long time Olivehurst resident, David L. Miller, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, 23 August 2016 at his home. David rejoins his wife, Barbara, who passed away in January of this year. After 58 years together, they are reunited. David was an Iron Worker in his professional life, stretching fence throughout California for more than 45 years. He was an avid stock car racer, winning trophies with endurance and skill. "Big D" also built and/or restored classic cars for many years, participating in car shows in Washington, all through California and Nevada and in Arizona. His classic cars were awesome show pieces, bringing him acclaim in the industry for creativity and attention to detail. David was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, both of his parents and one brother. He is survived by his two children, Linda Miller of Olivehurst and Rickey Miller of Linda, CA and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Daryel Miller, currently of Minnesota, Glenn (Robin), Dale (Debbie) and Chuck Miller of Alaska, and sisters Darlene (Charles) Walkden, Yvonne (Jim) Hubbs and Dorothy Miller of Alaska and Sylvia (Mark) Whaley of Utah and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held for David by family and friends on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sierra View Funeral Home, 4900 Olive Avenue, Olivehurst, CA 95961.
