Obituary of Thelma Mae Jones (Davenport)

Thelma Mae Jones, age 90, of Live Oak, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2016. She was born on August 23, 1925, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Lewis and Ellie (Deloizer) Davenport. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 35 years, and she loved working with the elderly and in the hospital. Thelma is survived by her daughter, Penny Scarberry, grandchildren: Tommy Scarberry, Toni Cavanagh, Penny Green, Kaycee Foster, Donnie Foster, Carl Foster, and Jessica Jones; 11 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; brother, Nickie Clark; and sister, Gloria Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Davenport and Ellie and Jesse Clark, her beloved husband, Carl Jones, son, Jesse Jones, daughter, Toni Foster, great granddaughter, Chloe, and sisters, Elsie and Birdie Ann. Thelma was loved by all who knew her and she will be dearly missed. There will be a Celebration of Thelma's life at the home of Penny Scarberry on Sunday, July 3, from 2 - 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society. Sierra View Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements.
