Obituary of Dorothy B. Lassalle Roman

Dorothy B. Lassalle Roman age 90, passed away on February 12, 2016 in Marysville CA. She died peacefully surrounded by family. Dorothy was born September 7, 1925 in Oakland, CA. She married Vernon (Tony) A. Roman in 1957 in Carson City, NV. They lived in San Jose, CA before moving to Marysville, CA in 1979. Dorothy attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Fremont High School in Oakland, CA. She went to Marin Jr. College and Business School and graduated with an Associate degree. Prior to marriage Dorothy worked as a Multi-Lith operator for the UC Berkeley Library. After marriage Dorothy was a homemaker. She was also a 4-H leader for many years and was very involved with her children in 4-H. Survivors include her children; Ellen (Troy) Stoker of Marysville, CA, Jan Roman Gonzales of South Lake Tahoe, CA, and Mark Roman of Olivehurst, CA, her brothers; Emile (Rosina) Lassalle and Eugene (Bobbie) Lassalle of Pinole, CA. Dorothy is also survived by 5 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Jean and Anna Lassalle, her husband Vernon (Tony) Roman, daughters; Julie Roman and Elana Roman Chambliss, her brothers; Charles Lassalle and George Lassalle, and her sister Juliette August McGuire. Dorothy was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and aunt to all and will be greatly missed. She will be remembered for the more than 55 hand-knitted personalized giant Santa Claus Christmas stockings she made for all new family members. Dorothy also remembered every family member's birthday every year with homemade cards and notes. A memorial will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Sierra View Mortuary at 4900 Olive Avenue, Olivehurst, CA.
