Obituary of Man Tat Young
Man Tat Young, 85, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016, at Rideout Hospital in Marysville, California. Man Tat Young was born on October 30, 1930, in Canton, China. He married Pui King Ng Young on February 8, 1949, in Canton, China, where he was a Liberal Arts high school teacher. He and his family later moved to Kowloon, Hong Kong, where he was a bus mechanic for the Kowloon Bus Station. In 1968, he immigrated along with his family to Marysville, CA and was employed by Lotus Inn Restaurant shortly thereafter. In 1973 Man Tat Young and Pui King Ng Young became the proud owners and operators of Sing Chong Restaurant in Marysville, CA, which was sold 15 years later. Shortly thereafter he was employed by Dragon Inn Restaurant until he retired in 1998. He is survived by his six children Jimmy Young (Teresa) of Tampa, FL, John Young (Jeanette) of Marysville, CA, Lily Johnson (Craig) of San Jose, CA, Tony Young (Sandra) of Yuba City, CA, Jerry Young of San Jose, CA, and Nancy Young of Sacramento, CA. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Pui King Ng Young and grandson, Craig Johnson, Jr. Services will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Sierra View Mortuary. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. also at Sierra View Mortuary.
