Obituary of Irene M. Parker (Peterman)

Irene M. Parker, age 97, died peacefully at her home in Marysville, California on August 9, 2015. Mrs. Parker was born in Bemidji, Minnesota, on March 11, 1918. She moved to Marysville and graduated from Marysville High School in 1936, and then from Heald Business School. She worked at Mather Field as a clerk-typist then for Weaver Tractor as a secretary. She married H. Earl Parker on September 1, 1944, and had two children, Pennee Parker (Robert Berrigan) of Sacramento and H. Earl Parker, Jr., of Marysville. She loved to read and especially to read the Bible and attended the First United Methodist Church in Marysville when she was able. Mrs. Parker is also survived by grandchildren, Kimberly Newkirk of Lodi and Jennifer Gallaway of Sacramento, great grandchildren, and many descendants of her late husband. She is predeceased by her husband, H. Earl Parker, her brothers, Donald and Lloyd Peterman, and sister, Doris Smith. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Sierra View Memorial Park. The family suggests remembrances to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95817. Sierra View Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements.
