Obituary of Elizabeth Mary Moore (Hogan)
Elizabeth M. Moore, age 75, of Olivehurst, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughters, on Friday, March 27th, at Lincoln Meadows Care Center in Lincoln, due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis that she courageously battled for nearly 20 years. She was born on April 23, 1939, in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada to Patrick and Mary (Drover) Hogan. Elizabeth met and married John S. Moore, who was in the USAF and stationed in Newfoundland. They were married 56 years. She and John owned and operated J & R Automotive in Marysville since 1972. Along with raising their five daughters, she did the accounting and payroll for the business. She enjoyed bowling and was a longtime league player. Later, she and John enjoyed fishing and boating and then traveling in their motorhome, in which they made several trips "home" to Newfoundland to visit family. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother and will be dearly missed. Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by her husband, John, and their daughter, Terry Lynn Moore. She is survived by daughters, Debbie (George) Donnell of Yuba City, Cindy (Mark) Fischer of Olivehurst, Elizabeth (Dennis) Bowman of Marysville and Liz M. Moore of Colorado; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; sisters, Mary Jordan, Rita Pike and Judy Hogan, and brother, Jerry Hogan. Friends are invited to visit on Monday, April 6, from 9 a.m. until Noon at Sierra View Mortuary. A chapel service will be held at the mortuary at 1 p.m. on Monday. Committal will be private at Sierra View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth's honor to the National MS Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163. Sierra View Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements.
