Obituary of Pleasant Kevin "P.K." Devin
Pleasant ("Plez" or "PK") Devin passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, January 26th, 2015 at the age of 83. Pleasant was born in Duncan, Oklahoma and moved to the Olivehurst area as a teen working in the Almond orchards in Wheatland and attending Marysville High School. Upon graduating from HS he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Saint Paul as part of the Damage Control Team during the Korean War. In 1952, he married his sweetheart, Myrtle "Tena" Jone,s to whom he was married for just shy of 61 years before her passing in September of 2013. Pleasant and Tena settled into their home in Olivehurst in 1956 where they raised 4 children, Noretta, Peggy, Kevin, and Ray. Pleasant retired in 1986 after 31 years at Frank M. Booth where he came up through the ranks from Apprentice to Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker. Pleasant is preceded in death by his wife, Tena, who passed in 2013 and is survived by his four children and their spouses; Noretta and Ray Smith of Sand Springs, OK; Peggy and Carl Gore of Olivehurst; Kevin and Melissa Devin of Bothell, WA; Ray and Pam Devin of Anchorage, AK; his 11 grandchildren and their spouses and 13 great grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for 1pm at Sierra View Mortuary on Friday, January 30th, 2015, with a graveside service immediately following. Preceding the service there will be a viewing beginning at 10am.
