Obituary of Edith Pauline Massengale (Vest)

Edith Pauline Massengale, age 75, of Olivehurst, passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2014. She was born on March 3, 1939, in Morgan County, Alabama to Marlon Eugene and Bertha Lee (Walker) Vest. She worked for Bossen Linen for 20 years. She enjoyed playing pool and darts, dancing, and camping. She liked to watch football, but was passionate about baseball. Most of all, she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also Senior Regent of the Women of the Moose. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be dearly missed. Mrs. Massengale is survived by her children: Teresa Frost, Cecillia Bredeson, Rachel Branscum, Richard Dillon, and Trisha Ramirez; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; siblings: Fred Vest, James Vest, Kenny Vest, Sr., Alma Enser, and Nancy Cottrell; sister-in-law: Kay Colvin; brother-in-law: Larry Colvin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Massengale, her mother, Bertha Taylor, siblings: Janie Webster, Roy Taylor, and David Taylor, and her father, Marlon Vest. Friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Sierra View Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, at 11 a.m. at the mortuary with committal to follow at Sierra View Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the Moose Lodge, 1775 Beverly Avenue, in Olivehurst. Sierra View Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements.
