Obituary of Mentis Louise "Lou" Huggins (Dustman)
Mentis Louise Huggins, 88, died December 27, 2014, at her home in Marysville CA She was born Mentis Louise Dustman, December 5, 1926, in Maple, Oklahoma. She was one of 9 children, 6 brothers and 3 sisters. She moved to California in 1946 and raised two sons. She continued to live in the Marysville area except for 4 years in Florida from 1969 to 1972. After working at Green Giant Food Processing Facility, she retired from Yuba College as a Food Service Associate assisting students after 17 years of service in 1989. Her interests included family, friends, gardening, ceramics and quilting. She made sure that everyone in the family received a hand made quilt that she had made. Lou attended many years of Yuba College retiree luncheons, until it was too difficult for her to attend. Mrs. Huggins is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 45 years James Huggins, two sons; John Ross and Steve Ross, two step-daughters; the late Hiedi Norman and Tinna McCalister, two grandsons; Raymond and his wife Kelly and Kristopher, and three great grandchildren; Jacob, Addyson and Samantha. A memorial service will be held at Sierra View Memorial Park on Wednesday, December 31, at 1:00 p.m. at 4900 Olive Avenue in Olivehurst, CA.
