Obituary of Richard Marvin "Dick" Wiglesworth
In loving memory of Richard (Dick) Wiglesworth. Born in Placerville on June 25, 1931, passed away at home on November 25, 2014, after a long battle with diabetes. Dick grew up in Placerville, the youngest of thirteen brothers and sisters. He was Past Master Councilor of El Dorado Chapter, Order of DeMolay. He joined the U.S. Navy and served for four years during the Korean conflict. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Hay, in 1957, and they lived most of those years in Yuba City. Their life was spent with their family and friends celebrating many good times together. Dick is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sister, Jean West; brothers-in-law; Garell Hay, Billy Hay, and Garey Hay (Linda); and sister-in-law: Debra Clanton (Jim). He was a much beloved uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Dick was a member of Corinthian-Hammonton Lodge, Freemasons; Marysville York Rite Bodies; Yuba City Moose Lodge, Chapter #1089; and an Associate Member of Telephone Pioneers. He greatly enjoyed his involvement of the Pioneer Project to paint United States maps on the playgrounds of local schools. Friends are invited to visit on Friday, December 5, from 11 am until Noon at Sierra View Mortuary. A graveside service will be held at Noon on Friday at Sierra View Memorial Park with a reception to follow at the Moose Lodge in Yuba City. Donations may be made in Dick's name to Sutter North Hospice in Yuba City or Shriner's Children's Hospital in Sacramento.
