Obituary of Rosella Elizabeth Crouse (Odom)
Rosella Elizabeth Crouse entered into eternal rest on November 23, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born on February 17, 1920 in Chickasha Oklahoma to William and Ora (Looney) Odom. She traveled from Oklahoma by way of Arizona to California with her family. Rosella worked in the ship yards in World War II in support of the war efforts. She was a department manager at J C Penneys when she met her future husband and love of her life 1st Lt. Harry S. Crouse who was stationed at Camp Beale. She was retired from Sunsweet Growers. She was involved with many clubs and organizations; The Women's VFW Post #4095, Olivehurst Fireman's Women's Auxiliary, Bluebirds, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, OLLL, Future Homemakers of America, Brophy and Olivehurst 4-H, Valley Quilt Guild, and Red Hat Society. In her retirement she was an avid quilter. She enjoyed gardening and loved caring for her large Koi ponds. Rosella is preceded in death by both parents; her husband 1st Lt. Harry S. Crouse; grandson Larry Samon and sister Ruby Henry. She is survived by her 5 children, Vera Stewart of Reno, Roseann VanDerAa (Alan) of Arboga, Harry Crouse (Pam Kaiser) of Marysville, Paul Crouse of Yuba City and Annette Oswald (Lester) of Olivehurst. 9 grandchildren, Phil Samon of Loma Rica, Robert Mull (Gina Gonzalaz) of Fallon, Melissa Gillaspie (James) of Olivehurst, Mai VanDerAa (David Sandler) of Plumas Lake, Amy Erdman (Brock) of Colorado, Bobby Crouse of Oroville, Kia VanDerAa of Sacramento, Ryan Crouse (Heather Gwinnup) of Marysville, and Chad Crouse of Olivehurst. 15 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; 2 nieces; 1 nephew; many cousins, and former co-workers and friends of Sunsweet. She will always be loved and missed by her family and many friends she leaves behind. Services will be December 3, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Sierra View Mortuary, 4900 Olive Ave, Olivehurst.
