Obituary of Eula Jean "Happy" Rue (Triplett)
Eula Jean Rue, age 82, of Olivehurst, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. She was born on January 26, 1932, in Missouri to Edgar and Oma (Silvey) Triplett. Eula was a homemaker for many years and also worked at Avalon Bay in Yuba City for 17 years. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her family, especially at Soldiers Meadows and Scales. She was known as Eula, known as Jean, and her most well deserved nickname was "Happy", a nickname given to her by her brother that suited her best. Happy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be dearly missed. Mrs. Rue is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Jerry Rue; son: Stephen Lewis Metcalf; daughter: Anita Jean Metcalf; stepchildren: Katherine Elaine Wright, Linda Jo Olszewski, and Kenneth Blevens Rue; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister: June Clark; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Roger and Larry Lee Metcalf, and siblings, Roy Gene Triplett, Frances Raymond Triplett, Betty Ward, and Linda Evans. Friends are invited to visit on Monday, November 3, at Sierra View Mortuary, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, at 10 a.m. at Sierra View Memorial Park. Sierra View Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements.
