Donald W. Toland Sr. of Marysville, CA, passed away October 24, 2014. He was born February 8, 1928 in Woodland, CA to Arther and Delia Toland. Donald served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Moose Lodge and E Clampus Vitus. He was an Olivehurst Fireman in the 50s and 60s as a Captain. He worked as a carpenter in the 50s on several military bases. He worked for Olivehurst Public Utility District in the late 50s, early 60s. His real love was working in the rice fields at times with his sons. He worked for the Whipple Ranch and then Woodland Rice Growers in District 10 where he retired. Donald is survived by two sons, Donald W. Toland Jr., William E. Toland, both of Marysville; two daughters, Beverly A. Toland of Kasilof, AK, Katie McDaniel of Lincoln City, OR; three grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren. He love to spend as much time as he could with family. Donald was preceded in death by the love of his life for over 35 years, Mary L. Toland. Also by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Viewing will be at Chapel of the Twin Cities, 715 Shasta St., Yuba City, CA Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at 4:00pm - 7:00pm. Graveside service will be held at Sierra View Memorial Park in Olivehurst, CA Thursday, October 30, 2014, 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Disabled American Veterans or a charity of your choice .
