Obituary of Angela Kay "Angel" Johnson (Childers)
Angel was born on August 5, 1960 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to George and Hildagard Childers. The fifth of six children, she lived, attended school and worked locally for 51 years. She passed away on September 6, 2014 at U.C.S. F. Medical Center in the I.C.U. surrounded by family. Predeceased by her parents and younger brother, George Jr., she is survived by sisters, Helga Childers (Mike) and Heidi Thomason (Larry); brothers, Gary Childers (Kathy) and Charles Childers, seven nephews and one niece, her boyfriend, Darol Youngman, and last, but not least her cats, Keke, Ren and Spazz (her children). Considered a hard worker, Angel was employed by Yuba-Sutter Linen Supply for several years. She was a bartender at the 7 Mile House. She also worked at the Alicia Market. For the past eight years, she worked in Internal Maintenance at Thunder Valley Casino. Angel loved animals; cats and wolves. She enjoyed outdoor activities; camping and swimming. She listened to Rock and Roll and country music. She loved her family and friends. When you were Angel's friend, it meant having a friend for life. She had no problem speaking her mind and usually did. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Sierra View Memorial Park, 10:30 a.m. Pastor Hayes Noble of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church will officiate. There will be a gathering following the service at 3160 Granite Drive, Yuba City, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to A.S.P.C.A.
