Obituary of Derrick Dean Roberts

Derrick Dean Roberts, age 56, was killed in an automobile accident on March 3, 2014. He was born on October 3, 1957, in Evanston, Illinois to Monte and Alice Roberts, but spent most of his life in the Yuba-Sutter area. Mr. Roberts is survived by his sister: Cheryl Peters and her husband Dave; nephew: Brandon Asher and his wife Misty; niece Jennifer Sevenau and her husband Jeremy; grandnieces and grand nephews: Dace Asher, Dakota Asher, Devyn Asher, Alexis Sevenau, and Jeremiah Sevenau; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Monte and Alice Roberts. Derrick had many different occupations over the years, including rough necking, forklift driver and carpentry. He was a jack of all trades, could fix just about anything and was always working with his hands. He enjoyed spending time with friends, fishing and listening to classic rock. Most of all, he loved being with his family, and was happiest when involved with his nephew and niece and their children. Derrick was a beloved brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Monday, March 10, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Sierra View Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at the mortuary with committal to follow at Sierra View Memorial Park. Sierra View Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements.
