Obituary of John S. Moore

John S. Moore, age 76, of Olivehurst, passed away suddenly but peacefully, surrounded by his family, on February 9, 2014. He was born on April 19, 1937, in Pasadena, California to Robert and Mary (Pratt) Moore. John served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service from 1954-1974. He has owned and operated J and R Automotive since 1972. He enjoyed working on cars and model trains, and he loved traveling in his RV with his beloved wife Elizabeth. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be dearly missed. Mr. Moore is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Moore of Olivehurst; daughters: Debbie (George) Donnell of Yuba City, Cindy (Mark) Fischer of Olivehurst, Elizabeth (Dennis) Bowman of Marysville, and Liz M. Moore of Colorado; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and 2 half brothers, Gary and Donald Moore. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terry Lynn Moore. Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, February 13, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Sierra View Mortuary. A chapel service will be held on Friday, February 14, at 10 a.m. at the mortuary with committal to follow at Sierra View Memorial Park.
