Obituary of Richard Jack Helton
R. Jack Helton was born March 1, 1934, in Indian Creek, Kentucky. He served 21years active duty with 3 tours in Vietnam, receiving 2 Purple Hearts, and a Bronze Star, and followed with 12 years of Civil Service at Beale AFB, where in 1984 he received a Heroism Award for diverting a runaway vehicle from the gas pumps at his filling station. Jack was an avid fisherman, a loving Husband and Father, and a humble Christian friend who touched countless lives. Jack passed away from cancer on November 17, 2013, peacefully in his home with his family at his side. Jack Helton was survived by his loving wife Fay, his son Greg Helton, two grandchildren Joshua and Patricia Helton, daughter Janet Allen, and three grandchildren YeVonne, Zachary and Nicholaus Allen. God rest his Soul. Friends and family are invited to visit on Saturday, November 23, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Sierra View Mortuary. A chapel service will be held on Monday, November 25, at 1 p.m. at the mortuary with committal to follow at Sierra View Memorial Park.
