Obituary of Ted J Wood

Ted J Wood, age 79, passed away peacefully at home in Sutter, California on August 9, 2012. He was born on April 14, 1933, in McClain, Oklahoma, and has lived in the Yuba-Sutter area for over 70 years. Ted retired from the California Department of Transportation as a design engineer after 44 years. He served eleven years on the Marysville Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees. Ted was also a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed camping and vacationing with his family, raising birds, and racing pigeons. Ted is survived by his beloved wife of almost 59 years, Shirley, daughter Jackie, daughter Kathy and son-in-law Stanley Reynolds, daughter Brenda and son-in-law Robert Wentz, and daughter Tammy and son-in-law Guy Harris. He is also survived by grandchildren Andrew and Angie Reynolds, Jennifer and Kenneth Kennedy, Jonathan and Robyn Reynolds, Dallas and Amanda Wentz, and Scarlett, Jacob, and Veronica Harris. His seven great grandchildren are Abigail, Brooklynn, Lucas, Emily, Levi, Julia, and Piper. A sister and brother also survive him. Ted was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Vicky. Visitation will be held at the Sierra View Mortuary in Olivehurst, California on Monday, August 13, 2012 between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Word of Life Church, 1229 Buchanan Street in Marysville at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Pastor Stan Reynolds will be officiating. Graveside service will follow at the Sierra View Memorial Park. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
