Obituary of John Robert Wilhelm

John was born in Wishek, North Dakota to John Valentine and Mary Belinda Wilhelm. He journeyed to California in 1962 and settled in the Yuba Sutter Area in 1964. He was a cook at Hy's Coffee Shop (formally at 9th & E St) and Denny's Restaurant in Marysville, retiring in 1997. In his retirement, John spent much of his time as a Deacon with First Presbyterian Church in Marysville and working at various food banks. John is survived by his son John Donald (Jill) Wilhelm of Sutter, stepsons Robert (LaVern) Rudow of Maxwell and Jimmy (Randi) Rudow of Arizona; grandsons Kevin Wilhelm of Marysville, John David and Corey Wilhelm of Sutter; sisters Jean Ann Maynard of Texas and Patricia Collins of South Dakota. He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Jean of 30 years and his wife Francis of 6 years; his parents; brothers Robert, Richard, and John Robert Wilhelm; and a sister Mary Margaret Pudwill. Cremation is planned at Sierra View Memorial Park Crematory in Olivehurst, California. A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Marysville with a reception to follow. A private burial will be held at Sutter Cemetery.
