Obituary of Norman Duane Trainer

Norman Duane Trainer, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Olivehurst. A native of Oakland, he has lived in the Yuba/Sutter area for over 45 years. A Vietnam veteran, Norman spent 2 years in the Army before re-enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, which he had retired from after 20 years. In addition, he was retired from the Wheatland School District as a maintenance person after 20 years. Norman's hobbies included model R/C airplanes, fishing, gold mining and golfing. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. Norman is survived by his son, Robert (Diana) Trainer of Olivehurst; his 2 daughters, Deborah (L.D.) Sutton and Barbara (Rick) Christensen, both of Olivehurst; 5 grandchildren, Larry Sutton, Emily and Alex Davidson, Christopher Christensen and Shawna Sutton. In addition, he is survived by his 3 great grandchildren, Tyler Ragan-Sutton, Austin Riley-Sutton and Nigel Davidson; and his good friends, Alan Maxwell, Robert "No Gold" Kondas and James Holloway. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Georgia Trainer and his grandson, Terry Sutton. A visitation will be on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Sierra View Mortuary in Olivehurst. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Chaplain Chris Madsen of Sutter North Hospice will be officiating. Military honors provided by the Beale Air Force Honor Guard. Entombment will be at Sierra View Memorial Park. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
