Jose Torres of Marysville, California passed away January 30, 2011 at his residence. Born and raised in Yuba City, California he graduated from Yuba City High School and worked for Caltrans for 17 years. Survivors include his mother, Micaela Cajero; mother in law, Elisa Hernandez; his wife of 37 years, Amelia Torres; 3 children, Angelita Canty, Anita Landaverde and Jose Torres, Jr.; 4 brothers, David Chand, Amer Chand, Roy Chand and Fernando Cajero; 3 sisters, Maria Cajero, Juanita Casillas, Leti Navarro and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Chand and by his granddaughter, Makayla Torres. Visitation will be Thursday, February 3, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Sierra View Mortuary with the funeral service immediately following. Father Francisco Hernandez of St. Isadore's Catholic Church of Yuba City will be officiating. Burial is at Sierra View Memorial Park. Jon L. Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
