Obituary of James Ray Roller

Loving husband and father, James Ray Roller 77, passed away January 8, 2011 at Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, California. Jim was born to Robert Grady and Maco Iva Sue Roller on January 1, 1934, in Henrietta, Oklahoma. His family moved to Healdsburg, California, before settling in Olivehurst in 1939. In September, 1956, he was drafted and served in the Signal Corps of the United States Army, and was honorably discharged in 1958. He was a long-time member of Nicolaus Lodge No. 129 F&AM, serving as Master twice and holding the office of Treasurer for many years. He was an Aircraft Electrician for 30 years at McClellan Air Force Base and even after retiring held a deep love and admiration of aircraft. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maco, and older brother, Wesley "Pete" Roller. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Betty, his daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Dean Harrison of Rio Oso, California, and Maco and Dave Offord of Olivehurst, California, his sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Bo Couts, and his younger brother, Robert A. Roller. In addition, he is survived by his 3 grandchildren, Kirsty and Wyatt Harrison and Morgan Offord. Jim's funeral will be held at Sierra View Mortuary on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Officiating will be Mr. Mike Edwards of the Masonic Lodge Enterprise #70 F&AM, Yuba City, California. Burial will be at Sierra View Memorial Park on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital in his memory. Jon L. Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
