Obituary of J.D. Arley Redmond

J.D. Arley Redmond, age 82, passed away peacefully at his residence in Yuba City, California on December 29, 2011. A native of Garvin, Oklahoma, he was born on February 6, 1929 and has lived in the Yuba/Sutter area for over 64 years. He was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad in Roseville, California where he worked for 40 years. J.D. was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma Redmond; by his son, Jim (Debbie) Redmond of Yuba City; and 2 daughters, Dolores (David) Smith of Yuba City and Joyce (Bobbie) Jones of Sutter. J.D. is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy; 7 sisters and 3 brothers. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Sierra View Mortuary in Olivehurst. Graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sierra View Memorial Park. Chaplain Chris Madsen of Sutter North Hospice will be officiating. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
