Robert C. Pico, age 77, of Olivehurst, passed away on April 7, 2012 at Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, California. A native of Calexico, California in the Imperial Valley, he was an Olivehurst resident since 1985. Robert operated a successful barber shop in Olivehurst for 17 years. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years which he retired from. Robert did a tour in Vietnam and Thailand. He received two USAF Commendation Medals for service in Vietnam and Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. Robert was a member of the National Disabled Veterans organization. Survivors include his loving daughter, Regina R.C. Pico (and son-in-law John Beckett Jr.) of Olivehurst; a brother; David Pico of Olivehurst; two sisters, Alicia Harnage of Albuquerque and Regina Pico of Olivehurst; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Fortino and Vidal; a sister, Virginia; and a brother, Fortino Jr. Graveside services will be on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Sierra View Memorial Park in Olivehurst, California. Pastor Dave Armstrong will be officiating. Military honors will be provided by Beale Air Force Base Honor Guard. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
