Obituary of Norma Anne Meyer

Norma, age 79, died peacefully on November 19, 2011, surrounded by family at Rideout Hospital in Marysville, California. Norma was born on March 7, 1932 to William and Bess Clutter in Washington, Pennsylvania. She moved to California with her husband in 1960 and has lived in Marysville, California for 52 years. Norma was married to William "Bill" Meyer for 62 wonderful years and had two children. She worked in the medical field for 30 years. Her involvement with the community included being a member of the Eastern Star and serving 14 years as a Yuba County Sheriff's Department STAR volunteer. Norma is survived by her husband, Bill Meyer; her 2 daughters, Debbie Gingery (Jeff) and Karen Howard (Craig). She also survived by her 4 grandsons, Josh Jellsey (Jennifer), Jeff Jellsey, Scott Johannes and Tyler Johannes; 7 great grandchildren, Abby, Mathew, Caleb, Luke, Torin, Cole and Adam; and by her brother, William Clutter. Norma was proceeded in death by her mother Bess Kanistanaux; her brother, "GI Bob" Clutter; her sister, Opal Tarr; her father, Harold Clutter and step-father, William Kanistanaux. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, Fremont Rideout Cancer Center, or Fremont Rideout Hospice. A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Sierra View Mortuary in Olivehurst. Funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Sierra View Memorial Park. Officiating is Chaplain Rich Prickett of Sutter North Hospice. There will be a gathering at the Meyer residence following the service. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
