Obituary of Francisco Barron Medina

Please share a memory of Francisco to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Francisco, age 88, died peacefully at his residence in Marysville, California. He always said "His life was worth a penny everyday." Reason being - he'd find one. Francisco was born in Tomo y Mala, Sinaloa, Mexico. He joined an engineering company and his journey began. Francisco worked throughout Mexico and eventually moved to California, living in the Yuba/Sutter area for over 59 years. He worked for the levee commissioner and for the City of Marysville Parks and Recreation for 17 years. Francisco's hobbies included: telling great stories, gardening and playing his harmonica. He is survived by his 5 children, Manuel (Jan), Elena (Bob) Skelton, Paco, Rico (Tina) and Gaby; 2 grandsons, Anthony and Matthew; and step grand children. Francisco is also survived by his brother, Jesus Medina; and his sister, Catalina Barraza. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Rosa Barraza; his grandfather, Manuel Medina; and his baby son, Robert. Graveside services will be on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Sierra View Memorial Park in Olivehurst, California. Chaplain Chris Madsen of Sutter North Hospice will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sutter North Hospice, 400 Plumas Blvd. #115, Yuba City, CA 95991. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
