Obituary of Paul Sidney McDermott

Paul, age 78, passed away peacefully at the Yuba Skilled Nursing Center in Yuba City, California. A native of Sunburst, Montana, he has lived in the Yuba/Sutter area for over 47 years. He was retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years. Later on, he retired as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service after 24 years. Paul was a devoted family man, loved tinkering around and was a master craftsman with PVC. He is survived by his wife, Louise "Paddy" Elizabeth McDermott of Marysville; a son, Brian Eric McDermott of Sacramento; 2 daughters, Karen Ann McDermott of Marysville and Brenda (John) Lentini of Lincoln. He is also survived by 4 brothers, Joseph Franklin McDermott of Vallejo, Thomas James McDermott of Olivehurst, Robert Charles McDermott of Butte, Montana and Fredrick Allen McDermott of Helena, Montana; 2 sisters, Gladys Josephine Morrison of Boseman, Montana and Alice Kathleen Lehto of Livingston, Montana. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Paul was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert Phillip McDermott and Theodore Patrick McDermott; and by 2 sisters, Violet Lucille Taylor and Lucy Elizabeth Wright. Cremation is planned at Sierra View Memorial Park Crematory in Olivehurst. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Sierra View Mortuary in Olivehurst. Reverend Jeri Dahlke of the First Presbyterian Church of Marysville will be officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Beale Air Force Honor Guard. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
