Gary "Duane" Massengale, age 71, passed away peacefully at Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, California on January 8, 2012. He was born on October 15, 1940 in Texas and has lived in the Yuba/Sutter area for over 33 years. He retired from Farmer's Rice Company in Princeton, California after 20 years. Duane was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and enjoyed fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Edith "Pauline" Massengale 0f Olivehurst, California; a son, Richard of Washington; 4 daughters, Cecillia (and Brian), Teresa (and Chuck), Rachel and Trisha (and Joe), all of Marysville, California; and a sister, Kay (and Larry) Colvin of Colusa, California. Duane is also survived by 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 2 nieces and a nephew. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sierra View Mortuary in Olivehurst, with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Al Jolley will be officiating. Services will be concluding at the chapel. Cremation will be at Sierra View Memorial Park. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
