Please share a memory of Lena to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lena (Darlene) Hedgecock Darlene passed away on September 28, 2012. She was born on November 30, 1946 at Camp Campbell, KY to Lee Roy and Nettie Hedgecock. Soon after the family settled in Redwood City, CA, she graduated from Menlo Atherton High School. She was also a graduate of Powers School of Modeling. After high school, Darlene worked in the offices of Boeing & Real Estate in the L.A. area before returning to Redwood City to raise her son, James L. Hedgecock. James was the light of Darlene's life. Darlene and James were involved with the handicap community in the Bay Area with her parents and her sister, Neoma. In 1976, the family bought property on Hammonton/Smartsville Rd. Darlene & James (Jim) spent many great times working the family ranch through the years. Darlene worked in the retail industry in the Yuba/Sutter area. After she retired, she enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading and taking care of her two precious dogs, Zyah and Charlee. Darlene was the daughter of Lee Roy & Nettie, proud sister of Neoma, mother of Jim, grandmother of Nikki and great grandmother of Shyan. Darlene was preceded in death by her father, Lee Roy in 1982. At Darlene's request no services are planned. A special thanks to Home Health Care & Hospice and also to Addie Reeder.
