Obituary of Ruth Lee Harris

Ruth, age 90, of Olivehurst, California died July 12, 2011 at Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, California. She was born in Ufella, Oklahoma on November 25, 1920 to Samuel Alexander and Ella Grey Elliott. Ruth worked hard all of her life, always putting others needs first. She had retired from Beale Air Force Base after 20 years. Then she started taking care of a baby named Haily, until she started kindergarten, which she thought the world of. Ruth is survived by her 2 children, Charlene Harris of Stockton, California and William Hughes of Olivehurst, California; 4 grandchildren, Guy Allen of Stockton, California, Thomas Glenn of Mountain Ranch, California, Michael Harris of Lodi, California and Mark Hughes of Oklahoma. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Matthew, Cassie, Thomas, Olivia, Timmy, David, Sherri and Clerisa. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Sam and Ella Elliott; and 3 sisters, Trelis, Ivera and Pauline. "In the book of lives there are memories of the happiest moments we've known. Recorded in love is the blessing of a wonderful mother of our own. You are gone, but the treasures you left us are truly a value untold. A life filled with deeds of kindness and beauty of heart sole. We love you mom and will sadly miss you." A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 8 - 10 a.m. at Sierra View Mortuary in Olivehurst. Graveside services to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Sierra View Memorial Park. Pastor Al Jolley will be officiating. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
