Frank "Pop" Jr. Gasaway, age 83, passed away peacefully at his residence in Yuba City, California. He left us on March 30, 2012 to go fishing with his son Tom; his parents, Frank & Ruth; and his 2 brothers, Jimmy & Gerald Gasaway. A native of Wagner, Oklahoma, he has lived in the Yuba/Sutter area for over 56 years. Frank was a self employed mechanic repairing boat motors for 15 years. He loved fishing and sharing life stories and a good joke with family & friends. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nellie Gasaway; his daughter, Virginia Gasaway; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Cottom of California and by his brother, Mikel Gasaway of Alaska. Visitation will be at Sierra View Mortuary in Olivehurst, California on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the funeral starting at 4:00 p.m. Officiating is Pastor Chris Madsen of the North Sutter Hospice. Burial will be at Sierra View Memorial Park. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
