Benjamin S. Eddings Born Oct. 8, 1922 - Went to sleep July 16, 2011 Ben was born in Haskell County, Oklahoma to Sol and Gertie Eddings. He was the youngest of 4 children, 3 brothers and 1 sister. He also had 2 other sisters who died very young. They have all preceded him in death. Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1941 at St. Louis, Missouri. Ben met and married the love of his life, Velda Mae Cody in 1942. They came to California from Oklahoma with their first child Jeannie in 1946. They had two more children, Dennis and Peggy. They have 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Ben was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was a fun loving man who always had a smile on his face. He loved and had so much fun with his grandchildren. They could always count on Papa for a good water fight or for somebody to just listen. Ben loved his cats, his sheep and going to Thousand Trails, Lake of the Springs. He also enjoyed "real country music, not this modern stuff" and old time fiddle music. Oh yeah. Was it mentioned Ben loved his cats? Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Sierra View Mortuary in Olivehurst, California. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
