Obituary of Hazel Pauline Coleman

Please share a memory of Hazel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Hazel "Pauline" Coleman passed away on November 2, 2011 at Prestige Assisted Living in Marysville, CA. She was 86 years old. Born in Henryetta, Oklahoma, she made her way to Marysville by the age of 15 where she met and married CW Coleman. Together they made a family of four boys - Bill, Earl, Butch and Ron, who gave them 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Pauline was a strong, loving mother and an inspiring grandmother and always put everyone before herself. She went on to continue her education at Marysville Union High School, American River Junior College and Chico State. She worked in food service at Walter Kynock School and spent 20 years as a food service manager at Yuba College. Pauline Coleman knew her way around a kitchen. She was an amazing cook and insisted on feeding anyone who stepped foot in her house. She was always welcoming and naturally nurturing. She was real; she was tough; she was brave and she was beautiful. She was one of a kind. Pauline was also a natural in the garden and after retirement, she spent most of her time in her yard caring for an incredible display of flowers and plants. She loved old-fashioned roses, and she had the tastiest Meyer lemons in town. Pauline's biggest love was her husband CW and it fills our hearts with joy to know that, finally, they are reunited again. Their display of unconditional love has been an example for all who knew them. The warm memories we have of them together and the reflections of Pauline with all of her courage and love will feed our souls for eternity. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 7th, at 9:00 a.m. at the Sierra View Mortuary Chapel in Olivehurst, California. A chapel service is scheduled following the visitation, with burial immediately following the chapel service at Sierra View Memorial Park in Olivehurst. A reception will follow at Casa Carlos at 1:00 p.m. in Marysville, California. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or 1-800-272-3900. Thanks a million to everyone at Prestige Assisted Living and Sutter North Hospice. Pauline loved you dearly. Mark S. Eliason is the funeral counselor in charge of arrangements.
