Obituary of Lucille Ada Butler

Lucille Butler, age 82, passed away peacefully at Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville on June 7, 2012, and has lived in the Yuba/Sutter area for 62 years. Lucille was born in Cloudy OK on August 2, 1929 to Claude and Clara Goheen. She graduated from Rattan high School in Rattan, OK in May of 1948. After graduation, Lucille headed for California and the start of a new life. She already knew her husband Chester Butler, having been raised in the same small town. They were married in Yuba AZ on July 24, 1948. They moved to Olivehurst where Chester worked in the lumber industry and Lucille worked as well in a variety of jobs, including egg grader at Feather River Mills. She eventually settled at Marysville Joint Unified School District as a cook manager in numerous area schools for over 26 years. After retirement, she enjoyed gardening and her grandkids. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Lucille is survived by her son, Ricky Ray Butler of Arboga, CA; her daughter, Toni Butler of Alba, TX; 3 grandsons, David (Misty) Butler of Wheatland, CA, Max Butler of Arboga, CA, and Justin Butler of White plains, MD; and a granddaughter, Lauren (Danny) of Lincoln, CA. She is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Camron and Katelyn Butler of Wheatland, CA; and by a sister, Lois English of Alba, TX. Lucille was preceded in death by both parents; her sisters, Fay Thurman, Mildred Goheen, and Dora Self; 2 brothers, Bud and Louis Goheen; 2 infant siblings; and a great grandson, Chase Baker. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sierra View Mortuary in Olivehurst. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Sierra View Memorial Park. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
