Catherine F. Beam, age 89, passed away peacefully at Rideout Memorial Hospital on November 23, 2011. She was born in Charleston, IL on July 29, 1922 and moved to California with her husband and daughter in 1946. Catherine retired in 1987 from Del Pero Mondon Meat Company as a Corporate VP. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Marysville, the Art Club, Yuba-Sutter Republican Women's Club, and enjoyed playing bridge and golf with friends. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Judith Butler of Yuba City; by her 2 grand daughters, Heather Kreiser (Jeff) of Folsom and Stacie Schies (Derek) of Loma Rica; her 2 grandsons, Scott Butler (Melanie) of Mountain House and David Beam (Michelle) of Chico. She is also survived by her 5 great grandsons, Nathan, Bryce, Joel, Kyle and Kevin; her 2 sisters, Helen and Joy; and many loving family and friends. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Scott W. Beam; her son, Eric M. Beam; 6 brothers and 1 sister. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Marysville. A reception will follow at the Beam residence. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital. Jon Fullerton is the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
