Donald Bard Anderson, 83, entered into eternal rest on March 4, 2009 in Yuba City. Born on June 27, 1925 in Hanford, CA he was a resident of Live Oak and the Sutter County area for 73 years. Mr. Anderson served his country honorably in the US Navy, and was a World War II survivor, having sailed on the USS Lexington. He also served his community as a law enforcement officer with the Marysville Police Department for a few years, and then with the California Highway Patrol, where he retired. Along with his career in law enforcement, he was a walnut farmer for most of his adult life. He also loved traveling, golfing, hunting and fishing. He is also survived by his six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Donald was loyal and loving to his family, and he will be greatly missed. Arrangements are under the direction of Sierra View Mortuary, however at Mr. Anderson's request, there will be no services. The family asks that Memorial Contributions be made to the Fremont-Rideout Medical Foundation.
