Obituary of Charles Edward Marrs

Charles Edward Marrs, 87, of Olivehurst, CA, passed away on November 8, 2024. Born on February 28, 1937, Charles was a devoted husband, father, and a proud veteran who served his country in the Army for three years.

Charles was known for his quiet demeanor, strong work ethic, and dedication to his family and community.

He spent 49 years helping others overcome alcohol addiction, a testament to his compassionate spirit and resilience. An avid outdoorsman, Charles relished his time fishing and camping, often sharing these passions with his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalee Marrs; his sons, Don, Charles, Bill; his daughter, Jeannie; his brother, Wayne; his niece, Sheila (Rich); his nephew, Jimmy; and several great-nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Francis Marrs; his brothers, Marlin and JD; and his sister, Betty.

A viewing will be held at Sierra View Memorial Park in Olivehurst, CA, on December 6, 2024, from 11 AM, followed by a graveside service from 12 PM to 12:30 PM. A memorial service will take place at The Bride Church in Yuba City thereafter.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Hub Alano Club in Marysville, CA, an organization close to Charles' heart, reflecting his lifelong commitment to supporting others in their journeys to recovery.
