Obituary of Andres Rojas Serna
Andres (Andy) R. Serna, passed from this earthly life and entered heaven on Sunday, October 2nd, 2022. He was 90 years old, Andy was born November 18, 1931, to Pedro and Guadalupe R.Serna in Goliad, Texas. He lived in the Bay area for 34 years and was a Yuba City resident for the last 30 years. He was an active member of Feather River Baptist Church in Linda, CA.
He graduated from Robstown High School, Robstown, Texas. Served in the US Army, FirstCalvary during the Korean War. He also Served as a civilian at Alameda Naval Air Repair Facility and retired with 40 years of service. He worked for Lockheed for 5 years in Fallon, NV.
Andy was an avid sports fan with the Giants and Oakland Raider’s being his favorites, you could always find him watching a game. He served as little league coach for his sons, played Senior and Church Softball league for years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Guadalupe R. Serna.
Andy is survived by his wife of 30 years Anita S. Serna; He is survived by his brothers Ernesto (Carol) Serna of Orange Park, Florida, Alfredo (Lydia) Serna of Robstown, Texas and his sisters Belia (Juan) Barrera of Corpus Christi, Texas and Guadalupe (Fidencio, Jr) Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas; His children and stepchildren, Sons, Omar (Laura) Serna of San Jose, CA, Glen (Cathie) Serna of Fremont, CA, Andy (Liz) Garcia of Bandera, TX, John (Tina) Garcia of Rio Linda,CA and Freddy (Becci) Garcia of Yuba City, CA; Daughters, Belinda (William) Dillard of Burmingham, Alabama, Zenia (George) Matthews of Citrus Heights, CA, Eunice (Andrew) Boger of Yuba City, CA and Niomi (JohnnyRay) Rodriguez of Yuba City, CA; 27 grand- children and 45 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
